Whether you’re new to Mobile and looking to meet new people in the city or want to give back in your free time, AIDS Alabama South is the place to do so. Volunteer with us to foster new friendships, build community and help strengthen HIV awareness for the  people of Mobile and surrounding counties.

As a volunteer, you may:

  • Help run Special Events

  • Serve as Administrative Assistants to support staff

  • Assist our Operations staff

  • Greet visitors at the Reception Desk

  • Welcome and check-in guests at our Community & Cultural programs

  • Provide assistance to our Prevention Department

  • Create safer sex packets and do HIV outreach with our HIV Department

  • And much, much more!

When volunteering at the Southwest’s largest and most diverse AIDS organization center, you may work with clients, patrons and guests whose life experiences vary greatly from your own. Volunteers at AIDS Alabama South help increase access for people living with HIV and AIDS by eliminating barriers associated with:

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Age

  • Gender

  • Gender Expression

  • Economic Status

  • Physical Ability

  • Mental Ability

  • Religion

  • And all other aspects of human difference

AIDS Alabama South has a strict confidentiality policy to protect the privacy of our clients.
As part of this policy, we require all volunteers to be 21 years of age or older to work with our programs.

Upon your registration, you will receive an email confirming your reservation. One week before your scheduled orientation, you will receive an email to remind you of the upcoming session and provide further instructions.

If you have any questions regarding your eligibility to participate as a volunteer or relating to particular opportunities, please contact the Volunteer and Development Manager, Kimberly McKeand at kimberly.mckeand@aidsalabama.org or call 251-545-4201
