DELTA RED WALK & HEALTH FAIR!
Please join us for the Delta Red Walk Mobile on March 9, 2019. The Mobile Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has teamed up with AIDS Alabama South to create a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for our families, friends, and neighbors who are affected by HIV and AIDS.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a not-for-profit sorority of college-educated women dedicated to public service with an emphasis on programs, like HIV and AIDS, that predominantly affect our minority communities. It’s critical that we raise awareness and funds for our local community members who need support for much-needed medication, transportation to doctors’ visits, food, shelter, plus much more. Frontline organization AIDS Alabama South provides essential life-sustaining services to those they serve across 12 counties and 12,545 square miles of Southwest Alabama were there are approximately 2,600 individuals living with HIV or AIDS.
We’re asking for your involvement to help make our 3 mile Delta Red Walk Mobile a big success. Your sponsorship of $250 ($150 for other not-for-profit agencies) is critical to the success of this event. In addition to our walk, there will also be a health fair and free HIV testing available to all participants. All contributions are tax deductible. In addition to participating as a donor supporter, we invite your organization to be represented by registering to participate in the walk, either individually or as a team.
As we prepare for our event, we’re encouraging area organizations, individuals and allies to remember what’s at stake for people living with HIV and communities most impacted by the epidemic. We truly appreciate your contribution and support of this endeavor to educate our community about this devastating disease.
