AIDS Alabama South invites families, local history and photography buffs, and anyone who loves scavenger hunts to participate in Discover Mobile! A Photographic Scavenger Hunt, which takes place every year around the month of September.
Discover Mobile is a much anticipated citywide event that takes place during the entire month of September in Mobile, AL. The five week scavenger hunt promotes HIV awareness while interweaving cultural diversity, Southern history, historical landmarks, and professional photography. With an extensive community of multi-generation participants and volunteers who’ve participated since the event started in 2007, Discover Mobile is undoubtedly the biggest scavenger hunt along the Gulf Coast. This event provides a sense of adventure, innovative thinking, team-building and social-networking opportunities. The participants purchase a high-quality Discover Mobile book with 25 or more photographs taken throughout the Mobile area by local photographers. Entrants purchase the book for $20 and search the area to locate the sites of the photographs. All correct submissions are then placed in a drawing, with one winner chosen. The winner of Discover Mobile is awarded a $1,000 cash prize during the Discover Mobile awards celebration party.
